This bowl can be an acquisition of great beauty and taste. It is the ideal gift for a close friend who appreciates art objects. The bowl can be used to serve both liquid and solid foods.
The decorative technique is known as Jiravire (the displacement in one sens or the other of the colors while they are still wet, obtaining fine and lacy contours called webs). It is a long and painstaking procedure, on which Horezu ceramics puts great emphasis on decoration. The pieces are decorated with cow horns through which the paint drips and a gaita (a small brush with a few rough hairs).
The product is hand-made, on a traditional kick-wheel, from red enamelled earthenware.
Materials used: The clay is obtained from the hills of Ulmet, at the edge of Horezu.
Crafting technique: A clay mixer is used to blend the clay and the construction of the object is done on the kick-wheel. The object is then burned once or twice in horizontal wooden stoves.
Sizes: The diameter of the bowl varies. You can choose from a wide range of sizes.
Weight: Varies upon the selected size.
